1. About WanderSafe
WanderSafe is a civic safety intelligence platform operated by Wandering With Pride Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization ("we," "us," "our"). WanderSafe provides LGBTQ+ travel safety information based on publicly available legal data, news reports, government advisories, and community submissions.
WanderSafe ratings are informational only and are NOT official travel advisories. WanderSafe is an independent civilian safety intelligence tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for any government travel advisory program.
For official guidance, consult your government's travel advisory service before making any travel decision:
- US travelers: US State Department Travel Advisories
- UK travelers: UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)
- All travelers: consult your own country's foreign ministry travel advice
Ratings may be outdated. Safety conditions can change faster than data sources update. Always verify current conditions through official advisories and real-time news sources before travel.
Wandering With Pride Inc. assumes no liability for travel decisions made based on WanderSafe ratings, alerts, or content.
2. Use of the Platform
By accessing WanderSafe, you agree to these terms. WanderSafe is free to access for destination safety information. Premium features (real-time alerts, priority notifications) are available via paid subscription.
You may not:
- Use WanderSafe data to discriminate against any country, population, or group
- Republish WanderSafe ratings without attribution
- Submit false or misleading community reports
- Attempt to access administrative or internal systems
- Use the platform for any purpose that harms LGBTQ+ individuals or communities
3. Community Reports
Community safety reports submitted through our form are user-submitted and are not independently verified. While reports undergo AI plausibility scoring and human review before publication, we cannot confirm the accuracy of any individual report. Community reports are one input into destination ratings and should not be treated as authoritative.
By submitting a report, you:
- Confirm the information is based on your genuine experience
- Consent to your report being published in anonymized form
- Understand your name and email are used only for follow-up and are not stored in our public database
- License your report under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0
We reserve the right to reject, edit for clarity, or remove any community report at our discretion.
4. Limitation of Liability
WanderSafe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- Safety ratings are accurate, complete, or current at any given time
- The platform will be available without interruption
- Alerts will be delivered in time to affect travel decisions
- Community reports reflect current conditions
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wandering With Pride Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on WanderSafe, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or financial loss incurred while traveling.
5. Data and Privacy
See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and handling. In summary:
- We do not sell personal data
- Community reporter identities are stripped before publication
- Email addresses for subscribers are managed through Buttondown and Stripe; we do not store plaintext email in our database
- We use Cloudflare for hosting; see Cloudflare's privacy policy
6. Intellectual Property
The WanderSafe scoring methodology is published under CC BY 4.0. The monitoring agent source code is published under the MIT License. Destination page content and safety assessments are published under CC BY-SA 4.0.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Refunds are handled per Stripe's standard policies. Safety-critical emergency contacts and evacuation information are never paywalled.
8. Service Availability
WanderSafe may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice, at the sole discretion of Wandering With Pride Inc. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access to the platform. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unavailability of the service.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
